What a blessed time. We are a lucky family. Christmas 2010 was filled with smiles, tears (on almost everyone's part), naps, wakefulness (TR), encouragement, gifts, movies, free babysitting, fireside chats, trivia, coffee, dessert, dancing, champagne, reading, music, technology, wine, togetherness, joy & laughter. One we won't soon forget. Thanks to all who made it so special. :-)

'Tis the Season
For the obligatory Santa Picture! Thad was amazing and just sat and smiled like the perfect angel he is. I was actually a little disappointed we don't have a picture of him completely losing his mind on Santa's lap, like the majority of the kids Santa pictures I see. :-)

5 Months!
Wow! The bird is 5 months old. So cliche, but time is FLYING by! Here are some current stats:
- Height & Weight - hasn't been measured since 4 month appt, but I'm guessing somewhere in the 17-18lb range
- Experienced some sleep regression for several weeks - bedtime between 7-8pm, waking up several times @ night = made for some sleepy parents. Finally, we turned off the monitor, turned on a sound machine in our room and let him cry. Who knows how long he cried, but he hasn't woken up @ night since!
- Now sleeping a pretty solid 3-4hrs during the day, and 12 hrs at night
- No set nap schedule just yet, but hoping to get there soon
- Still eating 5 times a day - exclusively breastfed
- Just tried rice cereal for the first time today - see pic above
- SO much personality!!
- Loves to jump jump jump! Either on your lap, in his "office", in the johnny jump up, etc, etc
- Loves his Office (or the circle of neglect as Valerie endearingly calls it!)
- Rolling over both ways, especially in his crib @ night
- Can sit up by himself for about 5 seconds before he face plants
- Loves an iphone (what kid doesn't?!)
- Starting to grab your face and put his mouth wherever he can
- Everything goes straight from hands to mouth
- Got his first stomach flu - 103 fever, vomit...no fun. Mom & Dad overdosed him on Tylenol and had to call poison control. Good times
- Then mom & dad got the stomach flu...and both grandmothers...it was rough...
- But we're all better now!
- Still going to "school" Mondays & Wednesdays and the occasional Friday when Mom has a meeting, etc.
- Smiling, laughing & talking all the time and it's AWESOME
Halloween 2010
TR was a Lobster for Halloween. Kind of random I know. We were the chefs. Some might think it was a little morbid for us to be the chefs, cooking up our child. For some reason this didn't cross our minds when we put the costumes together, we just thought it was cute. Either way, TR was definitely getting cooked seeing as how his costume is meant for sub 50 degree weather, not the usual Texas 85. He was a good sport. :-)

4.5 Month Photo Sesh with the Bird...
Have I mentioned that's what we call him? If I recall my first blog post referenced his many nicknames. Well, Bird (usually with Mr. or The in front of it) is the one that stuck. At least with TC & I. You'd think I'd get better at composition since having this captivating new subject, but alas, I still kind of suck at photography and barely know how to use my big, expensive camera. Thank goodness for photo editing software. One of these days I'll get better. :-)

Thad's Godmother
Is Jennifer Kornfuehrer - did I spell that right?! :-) Jennifer, aka, Jto, is not only my best friend, but maybe the kindest, most thoughtful person on this planet. She's pretty much part of the Rossmann family. She also has a strong heart for God, and will be an incredible spiritual role model for little Thad.
When thinking about Godparents for TR, Thad and I automatically knew who we would choose. Nowadays, Godparents can mean a lot of things. Back in the day, they might have assumed custody of our kids if something were to happen to us. Don't worry Jennifer & Howard (Godfather), we've left that up to Sam, Will, Barbara & Rebecca to figure out according to our Will. To me, I believe a Godparent is someone who leads a godly life by example, and can be someone our children call upon as a trusting friend, mentor and/or spiritual advisor. I hope our kids' Godparents will follow them through their childhood and be there for them in a time of need or uncertainty. For the Godmother role, Jennifer was the first person that came to mind and I'm so honored she agreed to the job. We love you Jto!

Conroe
We headed to Conroe for my 10yr reunion. Somehow I managed to not get one picture from the actual reunion, but I did get a few of TR & his grandparents. Boy does he love them and vice versa. He especially loved the yellow balloon @ the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival.
Dinner on the Terrace
With our sweet cousin Hallie & Aunt Tita @ the Country Club. Our attempt to take some cousin pictures @ the pumpkin patch was thwarted when there were no pumpkins in the patch. :-) So, high chairs & katie cornettes @ the club instead! And we ran into some friends, Cameron Hargis & Ben Cone! I must also mention that we had a MAJOR diaper situation occurrence while there. I was completely unprepared with NO wipes & NO replacement outfit...poop everywhere, and I mean everywhere (legs, belly, FACE). I looked pretty WT carrying a naked baby through the country club dining room, smelling of poop, along with my purse, his bag w/ dirty clothes, dirty burp cloths (no wipes, remember), and of course TC's take-home food. It was one for the books!
